Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 is the new Outlook email client meant for Mac OS based computers. This application is included in the Home as well as Business version of Office for Mac 2011. The new Outlook version has been designed with many useful features and thus has gained much popularity in a short span of time. With Mac Outlook 2011, you can bring all your mailboxes from your Windows Outlook to Mac, by simply importing the .PST file created in your Windows machine.
Apart from being easy-to-use, the email application includes many useful features, such as creating and keeping backup copies of your mail folders in a .OLM file. This OLM file can be used to restore the mailboxes, in case your Outlook database gets corrupt or damaged. Mac Outlook 2011 though is more robust and encounters minimal corruption in the email database, still there are some instances of corruption noticed, leaving your important mails inaccessible. Hence, if the email database gets corrupt or damaged, the .OLM file can be immensely helpful in restoring the data back.
However, at times, due to virus/malware attack or any hardware/software malfunction this Outlook backup file (.OLM) gets corrupt. If you lose the final chance to restore the mailboxes, in such situations, Stellar Phoenix OLM Repair can help you in OLM file recovery and access all your precious mail objects back.
Launch Stellar Phoenix OLM Repair. The main interface of the software opens as shown in the below screenshot. Click the 'Open File' icon from the tool bar.
The 'Select Outlook Backup File' dialog box opens. Click the 'Browse' button and select the corrupt OLM file from its location. Click the 'Start' button to begin the repairing process.
On successful completion of the repairing process, the OLM recovery software displays a process summary report as in the below screenshot. The summary report gives the number of mail items recovered in the process. Click the 'Close' button to close the message box.
The software shows all the recoverable mail objects for preview. Preview the mails, address book, calendar, notes and tasks by clicking the corresponding icons from the tool bar.
Click the icon, 'Save Repaired File' from the toolbar and provide the destination location to save the recovered mail objects in the specified location. Note that the recovered file is saved as a .RGE file; 'Main Identity.rge', which can be accessed by importing it into the Outlook application. A process completion message is displayed.
